FORTNITE ISLAND — I have a confession: I am a sucker for running gags. So when Epic Games dropped a quest to find and destroy a cabbage cart in Fortnite, a direct nod to Avatar: The Last Airbender, I grabbed my pickaxe and hit the road. If you have ever watched the cartoon, you know the poor Cabbage Man. Every time Aang and friends show up, his livelihood goes flying. In Fortnite, you get to be the chaos. As of 2026, the map has changed more than a chameleon in a paint store, but if you are playing a mode or Creative remake that still includes Fencing Fields, this guide is for you.

Where I Found the Cabbage Cart
During my hunt, I spotted a cabbage cart in almost every area on the map, but the most reliable one sat north of the Fencing Fields next to the road. I am talking about the buildings and vineyards. Walk north, keep your eyes peeled, and you will see it. It is not exactly hidden, but it is easy to miss if you are busy cranking 90s or running from a sweat.
| Location | What to Look For |
|---|---|
| North of Fencing Fields | Cabbage cart beside the road, near buildings and vineyards |
| West of Fencing Fields | Large factory; another cart beside the road if the first is gone |
| Other POIs | Carts can spawn in almost every area, but Fencing Fields is my go-to |
How to Destroy It (Without Getting Trolled)
To finish the quest, take out the cart with your weapon or pickaxe. I recommend the pickaxe because it is quiet and fast. But you have to be quick. While I was writing this guide, someone in a car rammed through my cart. Now I know exactly how the Cabbage Man felt in The Last Airbender. If that happens to you, do not throw your controller. Go west down the road. You will see a large factory. Beside the road, there should be another cabbage cart. Hopefully, it has not been taken out by a wannabe Dom Toretto again. If it has, circle back later or try another match.
The Appa Glider Grind: Six Chakras and a Lot of Patience
Let us talk about the real prize: the Appa Glider. Unfortunately, unlocking it takes a long time, and you have to buy the Elements Pass as well. You need to open six Chakras to get the awesome item. That means waiting for weeks as quests unlock. For example, at the time of the original quest, the Earth Chakras were not released for around two days. The quests are fairly easy, however. Some include landing on the water from the battle bus and dealing 1,000 damage with waterbending. Hopefully, the Earth Chakra quests are just as simple.
If you are looking to get 400 more Chi for your Elements Pass, you will have to venture into Creator Made Islands. From these levels, you need to get 65,000 XP to gain 400 Chi. This is likely to continue to progress as it says you are only on Stage 1 of 5 from the beginning. So pace yourself. It is a marathon, not a sprint.
My Tips for Fellow Cabbage Hunters
-
Check the road first. Carts love roadsides.
-
Use a vehicle to cover ground, but do not ram the cart unless you want to be the villain.
-
If the cart is gone, switch lobbies or wait a few minutes. Another player may have destroyed it.
-
Do the quest early in the match. The early bird gets the worm, and the early player gets the cabbage.
-
Keep an eye out for waterbending damage challenges. They pair nicely with the Avatar theme.
-
Do not sleep on Creator Made Islands. 65,000 XP sounds like a lot, but it adds up.
Final Thoughts
I am not pulling your leg: the cabbage cart quest is a piece of cake once you know where to look. It is a fun nod to one of the best running gags in animation. Even in 2026, when Fortnite has more crossovers than I have hot dinners, this one still makes me smile. So grab your pickaxe, head to Fencing Fields, and send that cabbage flying. Just do it fast—before some Dom Toretto wannabe beats you to it. And if you are grinding for Appa, hold your horses. Six Chakras will not open overnight. But when that glider finally soars, it will be worth every ounce of Chi.
